
Last Friday Washington School celebrated 100 days of school! We wore workout clothes because we have worked so hard! 💪🏼











Mrs. Mirigliani's class from Washington graduated Text Feature Medical School today! 🩺 The doctors had to prescribe their patients the right text feature to help their symptoms!











As a family project, the kids in Mrs. Bellenger’s kindergarten class from Washington made their own Valentine Mailboxes. They had the best time passing out their Valentine cards to their classmates. It was a day full of love, friendship and kindness 💘

Washington School had a Winter Concert this week and we would like to thank Mr. Burzynski & Ms. Chen for putting on a fantastic show! 🎶











Ms. Varela’s students from Washington have been working hard learning about measurement and size order! 📏🤓





Miss Sansone’s class from Washington had a “snowball fight “ review! They took turns reading and answering Social Studies snowball questions before their chapter test!





Washington School would like to recognize Mr. Rich Ribeiro for his very generous donation to our School Store! Mr. Ribeiro, a former alum of Washington School, utilized a staff grant from the Turrell Fund in Montclair to secure this donation and we are extremely thankful to him for choosing us!


Before we left for break, Washington School 4th graders participated in the second annual Candy Cane Olympics, with Mrs. Ricca taking home the trophy!

Mrs. DaSilva Brown’s PreK class from Washington finished their Tree Study by making a Fruit Salad together. They had so much fun learning about how trees change, what grows on trees, what animals live in trees, who takes care of/how to take care of trees and even making applesauce. It was a Tree-mazing experience! 🌲🍁






Mrs. Donovan’s class from Washington worked in groups to construct their own gingerbread houses!










Our Superintendent, Mrs. Encarnacao, came to Washington and visited Mrs. Crawford & Mrs. Tallarida’s 2nd grade class and read a book!



Students in Mrs. Ricca’s science class at Washington School had to work together to build a Christmas tree using only gumdrops and toothpicks. They had to problem solve in this STEM activity to meet the challenges they faced while creating their tree!











Mrs. Donovan’s class from Washington learned how male turkeys use their feathers and dance moves to attract females turkeys. They decorated their own turkeys and modeled their turkeys dancing!






Mrs. Molina’s 4th grade class from Washington observed and examined the properties of soil!









Mrs. Mirigliani’s class from Washington learned about the origin of the Gingerbread house and then made some of their own!

4th and 5th grade students in Mr. Burzynski’s music class at Washington learned to play their first two chords on our new ukuleles this week!




Ms. Talia, Ms Dyl, Mrs Hornung, Ms Weiss, Mr Flannery, Mrs Ruthman, and Ms Molina from Washington had a Hanukkah party last week! They celebrated by decorating menorahs and playing dreidel. Happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate!
