Washington School fourth graders visited the Kearny Library! The students enjoyed reading books with their friends and explored the Kearny Museum! They even got to relax in their outdoor patio! They had a lot of fun and learned so much about the history of Kearny!

The students in Mrs. Mirigliani’s class from Washington went camping last week! 🏕 They read camping stories, worked in their tents with flashlights, and even built their own campsites!
Washington K & 1 classes had a very special visit today! Mrs. Kryshak-Baptista and her KHS ESL students read to our students and worked on cool art projects! Our students had an amazing time and were also happy to sing Happy Birthday to their new friend, Vítor! Washington School preschoolers in Ms. DaSilva and Mrs. Gawronski-Smyth's classes took a trip to Turtle Back Zoo last week, where they visited attractions like the touch tank, saw the prairie dogs, took a train ride and enjoyed an outdoor lunch. Students were so excited to see all different types of animals from different areas of the world and even got a peek into what the different habitat needs are of each.
Ms. Hill’s 6th graders from Washington completed a STEM project that involved building bridges to withstand weight!
Mrs. DiGiovanni’s and Mrs. Gryckiewicz’s students from Washington were challenged by Ms. Bird to build sun shades for LEGO people using just notecards, tape, and straws. They were so creative with their use of materials!

The students in Miss Molina’s fourth grade class were the ultimate chill bugs while exploring with their pill bugs! The experience had them rolling with fun! They observed the roly-polies, built mazes and then released them into the Washington School Garden! They were truly on a roll!🌀
Mrs. Molina's 4th grade class from Washington became Entomologists as they spent the week completing their Pill Bug Unit. The students learned about safety procedures, made observations and interacted with pill bugs!
