This morning Mrs. Parreiras and Mrs. Onnembo’s 6th grade ESL classes from Washington took part in a Google Meet with Keith Rygiel from the 1st Cerebral Palsy School of New Jersey. After reading the novel Out of My Mind, the students were able to ask questions and gather further insight about cerebral palsy.

🐜 Mrs. Martinez’s 2nd grade class from Washington has been busy exploring the world of insects! As part of their learning, students went outside to observe ants in their natural habitat, carefully studying ant hills and watching how these tiny creatures work together.
From teamwork to observation skills, our young scientists are discovering just how fascinating insects can be! 🌱🔍

3..2..1..BLAST OFF!!! 🚀 Mrs. Peso's 1st graders from Washington are excited to start their new unit on Astronomy 🌌 with their new friend Commander Stitch! We are reaching for the stars! 🌠



Mrs. Walsh, Mr. Flannery, Mrs. Hornung, Ms. Dyl, and Mr. Schrippa’s classes from Washington had an exciting visit to see the chicks at KHS!
Before our trip, they prepared by learning all about the life cycle of a chick. Seeing that learning come to life made the experience even more meaningful!
Students were thrilled to observe the chicks up close and loved having the chance to gently touch them. It was a memorable, hands-on learning experience for everyone!










On Friday, the Child Study Team at Washington School hosted a virtual session for parents focused on supporting healthy eating habits for students with disabilities.
Jennifer Kao, a licensed nutritionist, shared practical tips and guidance to help families navigate picky eating and encourage healthier food choices at home.



Ms. Pasquarelli, Mrs. Ruthman, and Mrs. Molina’s students from Washington had the chance to visit KHS to check out their chicks! 🐥 🐣










Mrs. Mirigliani and Mrs. Hill’s math class turned into Fraction Pizzeria. Students were given tasks inside pizza boxes to find equivalent fractions. Big thank you to Mr. Nino’s Pizzeria for their generous donation to make our Pizzeria come to life! 🍕 @mr.ninosbrickoven

Washington School student Jadiel has worked SO hard all year to save up his school bucks to buy a bike! Best part, he bought it for his sister! We vote him brother of the year!

Washington School PreK students from Mrs. DaSilva Brown's class has just finished learning all about Cameras. We have learned about different kinds of cameras, people that work with cameras and what to make with cameras. We have made Photo Booths, Yoga Videos, our own Cameras and even had a special visitor, Mr. Ruiz, come to teach us all about different cameras he uses to capture special moments! 📸🤳📹

Washington LLD K–6 students had a wonderful time celebrating St. Patrick’s Day at our “Lucky to Be Friends” Social! Students enjoyed spending time together while crafting festive projects, dancing to fun music, and practicing important social skills with peers from different grades.
It was a joyful morning full of laughter, creativity, and friendship. We truly are lucky to have such an amazing group of students!
