Washington Elementary School -

Congratulations to Washington School's September Student of the Month recipients! We are so proud of you!

This week at Washington School we celebrated #startwithhelloweek! This week helps remind us why it’s important to include others and it’s as simple as just saying hello! Staff was given resources such as videos and activities to support the message. Today, Ms. Afayee and her Student Council spread some love to students and staff by giving them special hello messages!

Washington School was treated by various music teachers in the district to a special assembly about the school band and how you can join the band. Thank you to our very own Ms. Chen for showing our students the importance of instrumental music!

Mrs. Donovan’s second graders from Washington worked together to plan, design, and build a tower. They had 30 minutes to build a tower out of spaghetti, mini marshmallows, and tape that could hold a jumbo marshmallow. They enjoyed snacking on their building supplies when they were finished!

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! Washington School has a population rich in Hispanic culture. It’s awesome to see our students and staff representing their countries!

With reflective and meaningful Yom Kippur wishes, may this Day of Atonement bring peace, forgiveness, and renewal.

Washington School honored the 25th anniversary of the events of September 11th. Fifth grader, Landon, sang a song. Sixth graders, Sarai, Nafissa, Christopher, and Danilo spoke about the importance of this event in history, as well as reciting poetry. We also decorated our front lawn with mini flags to show our support. Please check out our school instagram (@washingtonschoolnj) to find more photos and videos of the event!
