
Garfield School Students received Library Awards to acknowledge their enthusiasm for reading by checking out the most books all year and being responsible library patrons returning them on time.





Garfield School fifth and sixth graders enjoyed a presentation from the Kearny Police Department about Jr. Police Academy. Many of our students are eagerly filling out their applications. Thanks KPD!




Garfield School Kindergarteners in Mrs. Pronti's class learned about life cycles and released their butterflies on a beautiful sunny day. 🐛🦋🌞






Garfield School first and second graders participated in the Golden Sneaker Challenge! The goal was for the students to participate in walking activities and to determine which class had the most steps. The pedometers were provided by the Hudson County Improvement Authority.

Garfield School was treated to a BMX assembly! The riders put on an impressive show with their stunts and tricks and shared positive messages and bicycle safety rules with our students. It was an exciting experience for everyone!

Today our 6th graders walked to Lincoln Middle School for a quick Orientation and Water Festival Presentation! From touring the building and learning about all the exciting opportunities ahead—our future middle schoolers are officially ready to soar! 🏫🎒

Garfield School: 🎉 6th Grade Takes Flight at Urban Air! 🌀
Our amazing 6th graders had a blast on their class trip to Urban Air Adventure Park! From bouncing on trampolines to conquering the climbing walls and zipping through obstacle courses, the day was filled with laughter, teamwork, and non-stop energy.










Garfield School: Mrs. Gerbasio's Volleyball Club finished the season strong with three awesome games! The club helped students with their volleyball skills including bumping, setting, and serving. Keep up the practicing! It was a great time!




Garfield School first and second graders visited Fosterfield Living Historical Farm and learned so much about life on the farm.





Garfield School: Today in Miss Seeley and Miss Gallagher's class the students learned about different types of birds. They learned facts about what and how they eat. For a STEM activity, the children built their own bird feeders. They received some bird seed and are taking them home to display them in their yards.

Garfield School's Family Engagement Night brought our K-6 students and their families together to discuss limiting screen time, explore fun math activities, and enjoy hands-on crafts and games.








Bravo to everyone involved in Garfield School's Spring Concert! Under the direction of Mr. Burzynski and Ms. Chen, our elementary musicians showcased their amazing talent with outstanding performances. We're also incredibly grateful to the Garfield School PTA for all their hard work decorating the stage and making it look so festive.

Garfield School: Mrs. Lonnay's Arts & Crafts Enrichment Program met this week to create Ink Landscapes! Students followed the direction in the step by step tutorials and created some amazing images!











KEEP STEM Showcase at Garfield School! Students presented their innovative projects using Makey Makey and Microbit technology.











Garfield School: Garfield students participated in the annual 6th Grade Field Day at KHS! They had an awesome time meeting new friends and playing games such as High Five Dribble, Soccer Shoot Out, Frisbee Toss, Homerun Derby, and so much more!









History came to life today at Garfield School, where 4th graders hosted their annual Wax Museum event. Dressed as their favorite historical figures, from Rosa Parks and Dr. Seuss to Taylor Swift and Jackie Robinson, students transformed the gymnasium into a living gallery. Each student stood beside a hand-crafted tri-fold presentation filled with fascinating facts, ready to "come to life" at the press of a button. Parents and teachers were invited to walk through the museum, pressing buttons to hear short, student-delivered biographies.
