This summer, Franklin's Patchwork Garden flourished with a vibrant harvest of fresh vegetables and herbs — from juicy tomatoes and cucumbers to sweet basil, parsley, collard greens, potatoes, and spicy hot peppers. None of this would have been possible without the dedication and hard work of last year’s Gardening Club members.

Franklin School is kicking off a brand new school year with an important mindset: every student learns and solves problems in their own unique way.

To celebrate this, students in Mrs. Komurek-DeMatos' classes were asked to reflect on a fun and insightful question:
"What type of math person are you?"

This activity helps set the tone for a classroom where all math minds are valued — because there's no one right way to be a “math person.”

Here’s to a year full of growth, discovery, and confidence in math!

Franklin School: Best part of Miss Fraginal’s classes!? Everything! Students wrote about the best part of themselves and shared why it’s important to them. It was a beautiful reminder that every student brings something special to our classroom family!

Yesterday, Franklin School came together for a touching 9/11 remembrance ceremony. Our students honored the day with patriotic songs and a beautiful flute performance, reminding us never to forget. ❤️

The Kearny School District honors the lives lost and remembers the heroes who rose on 9/11. We will never forget. 🕊️

Franklin School: Happy retirement to the one and only Wendy Kerr, our Vice Principal, our protector, our go-to, and truly the heartbeat of our school. Wendy knew policy inside and out, kept us safe, and somehow managed to balance being a fierce advocate for teachers with having a real, genuine connection with every student who walked through our doors.
She got things done, made sure we were always taken care of, and showed us what it means to lead with heart and integrity.
Franklin won’t be the same without her, but her impact is woven into the fabric of our school forever. Once a Falcon, ALWAYS a Falcon!

Franklin school Ms Klein's class went to Big Nick's for their last time this year. They all have done such a great job using their communication devices to order. We can't wait to go back next year.

Ms. Hinostroza’s 3rd grade ESL science students are learning about biomes and discovering what animals, plants, and weather belong in each one. To showcase their newfound knowledge, they created their own flourishing biome with drawings and ideas. Students are having fun using their imagination while learning about the Earth!
