October is National Principal's Month, and we are celebrating our dedicated principals who lead with vision, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to student success every day. Thank you for inspiring excellence and shaping the future of our schools!

Franklin School: Happy National Custodian’s Day! 💙 Today we celebrated our hardworking crew who keep Franklin shining bright ✨ Thanks for all you do!

Franklin School: 💗 This October, our Junior Peers came together to spread awareness for Breast Cancer with the guidance of Mrs. Sickinger, who set up this meaningful activity to remind us of the importance of awareness, prevention, and support. Wearing pink ribbons 🎀 as symbols of hope, courage, and unity, we also honor the memory of Patty Sickinger, sister of Jimmy Sickinger, who fought an honorable fight with breast cancer. We remember those we’ve lost, stand with those still fighting, celebrate survivors, and remind everyone of the importance of early detection and getting checked—because awareness can save lives. 💗

Franklin School: 🐇📚✨ Fable Olympics in First Grade! ✨📚🐇
Mrs. Hoch’s first graders wrapped up their Amplify CKLA Unit 1: The Moral of the Story—Fables and Tales in the most exciting way… with our very own Fable Olympics! 🏅🎉
Students stepped into the shoes (and paws 🐾) of their favorite fable characters and brought the stories to life—competition style! From escaping Mr. McGregor 🥕, to leaping for grapes 🍇, balancing buckets 🪣, and racing with golden eggs 🥚—our classroom was full of laughter, teamwork, and lessons learned.
The kids had such a wonderful time reenacting the fables while also reflecting on the morals behind each story. 💡❤️

Franklin School: 🌳✨ Mrs. Sickinger's 6th grade scientists created a beautiful tree full of colorful birds to show that “Strong ecosystems thrive on diversity – and so do we!” 🐦💚 Many birds, one tree. Many students, one community. 💙 #FranklinFalcons #ScienceInAction #Itsgoodtobeafalcon

This summer, Franklin's Patchwork Garden flourished with a vibrant harvest of fresh vegetables and herbs — from juicy tomatoes and cucumbers to sweet basil, parsley, collard greens, potatoes, and spicy hot peppers. None of this would have been possible without the dedication and hard work of last year’s Gardening Club members.

Franklin School: ✨📚 We had a wonderful library celebration for our students who completed their summer reading! Great job, readers – your hard work really paid off! 🎉👏 #itsgoodtobeafalcon

Franklin School is kicking off a brand new school year with an important mindset: every student learns and solves problems in their own unique way.
To celebrate this, students in Mrs. Komurek-DeMatos' classes were asked to reflect on a fun and insightful question:
"What type of math person are you?"
This activity helps set the tone for a classroom where all math minds are valued — because there's no one right way to be a “math person.”
Here’s to a year full of growth, discovery, and confidence in math!

Franklin School wishes all students a school year filled with love, kindness, growth, creativity, learning, exploration, and joy — but above all, kindness.

🚦 Our 3rd graders had a blast in STEAM class today! They were introduced to Ozobots and learned how to code with colors, drawing lines and watching their bots follow the path they created. Can't wait to see what else these Ozobots can do! 🤖🎨 #STEAM #Ozobot #Computerscience #CodingByColor #FranklinFalcons #Itsgoodtobeafalcon

✏️🌳 Our 2nd graders in Ms. Felicioni took their ELA lesson outdoors today! They explored nature and sketched what they saw, using the fresh air and scenery as inspiration to build their writing skills. 🍂📖 #LearningBeyondTheClassroom #FutureAuthors

Franklin School: Best part of Miss Fraginal’s classes!? Everything! Students wrote about the best part of themselves and shared why it’s important to them. It was a beautiful reminder that every student brings something special to our classroom family!

Yesterday, Franklin School came together for a touching 9/11 remembrance ceremony. Our students honored the day with patriotic songs and a beautiful flute performance, reminding us never to forget. ❤️

The Kearny School District honors the lives lost and remembers the heroes who rose on 9/11. We will never forget. 🕊️

Let's Glow Kards! 🏈 Join us tonight, September 4th, at KHS Stadium for the first home Football game of the season! Wear neon to support the Kardinals as they take on North Bergen. Kickoff is at 7pm.

Franklin School: Happy retirement to the one and only Wendy Kerr, our Vice Principal, our protector, our go-to, and truly the heartbeat of our school. Wendy knew policy inside and out, kept us safe, and somehow managed to balance being a fierce advocate for teachers with having a real, genuine connection with every student who walked through our doors.
She got things done, made sure we were always taken care of, and showed us what it means to lead with heart and integrity.
Franklin won’t be the same without her, but her impact is woven into the fabric of our school forever. Once a Falcon, ALWAYS a Falcon!
We love you, Wendy. #ForeverAFalcon #WendyKerr #ThankYouWendy
