💖 Valentine’s Day was filled with smiles, laughter, and meaningful connections! 💖

The Franklin School Student Council, Safety Patrols, and Junior Peers had a wonderful visit to the Spruce Terrace Senior Center, where students and seniors spent time playing bingo, creating Valentine’s crafts, and socializing together. The joy in the room was truly contagious! To make the day even more special, there was a surprise performance by our very own librarian, Mrs. Melker, which brought big smiles and warm hearts all around.

A beautiful reminder of how a little kindness and community spirit can go a long way. 💕

The Kearny School District honors Presidents’ Day as we reflect on the leadership, vision, and service that have shaped our nation. As Theodore Roosevelt once said, “It is true of the Nation, as of the individual, that the greatest doer must also be a great dreamer.” In our schools, we see the leaders of tomorrow. May we continue to inspire our students to dream boldly and lead with courage and integrity.

Franklin Elementary welcomed five new finned friends to our building through our new aquaponics tank, a self-sustaining system where fish and plants work together to thrive. Thanks to the support of WiPro, administration, security, and staff, this hands-on learning experience is officially swimming along!

His work helps families feel welcomed, valued, and capable, not just as learners, but as partners in their children’s education.

Franklin School: On Friday, our school hosted a special breakfast to celebrate students who successfully exited the ESL program through ACCESS and MODEL testing. A total of 38 students reached this important milestone, and we were proud to recognize their hard work, growth, and dedication.
The breakfast was a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge their achievements in a welcoming and supportive environment. Students enjoyed time together while being celebrated for the progress they have made academically and linguistically. The event was a great success and reflected the commitment of our school community to supporting and uplifting our multilingual learners.
We are incredibly proud of our students and look forward to seeing them continue to thrive as they move forward on their academic journey.

Franklin School: Mrs. Janz’s class created chain reaction machines. With the power of height, transfers, and collisions, we created a secret message that would only be seen with just the right energy. Through the way, we learned that chain reactions are hard work and we used a lot of problem-solving and teamwork. We learned through perseverance!
