Drinking water can improve your focus and energy! 💧 Make it fun by: ✅ Setting a water reminder on your phone. ✅ Adding fresh fruit for a flavor boost! 🍓🍋 ✅ Keeping a bottle at your desk and taking small sips throughout the day.

In celebration of the Kearny School District Elementary School Wellness Week, we encourage our community to take a break for mindfulness: Pause. Breathe. Reset. 🌿 Take 2 minutes for a mindfulness break today: 1️⃣ Close your eyes and take a deep inhale through your nose. 2️⃣ Hold for 3 seconds. 3️⃣ Exhale slowly through your mouth. 4️⃣ Repeat 5 times. Lincoln Middle and Roosevelt Elementary School students proudly represented our community at the Hudson County STEM Showcase at Liberty Science Center! 🏆 Their hard work, creativity, and passion for science shined brightly, earning them a STEM Achievement Award in the Junior Division—an incredible accomplishment! A special thank you to Mrs. Nolan and Mrs. Galella for their guidance and support in helping students reach this milestone. Their dedication to fostering a love for STEM is truly appreciated. Whipped Cream Rainbow Rain Experiment ☘️ Mr. McKenna’s and Mrs. Jurlina’s class had a blast mixing fun with science for St. Patrick’s Day! 🎩✨ 🔬 What are we learning? ☁️ Discover how clouds hold and release rain—just like Ireland’s famously rainy weather! 🌧️ Explore density & precipitation to see how rainbows form, a symbol of luck in St. Patrick’s Day folklore! 🌈✨ 🎨 Watch vibrant colors mix as they drip through the “cloud,” just like a magical rainbow leading to a pot of gold! 🏆

In recognition of 🌎Global Recycling Day♻️, the Kearny High School SAVE club has created a display of ⭐580+ pounds ⭐of recyclable plastic bags and films that would have otherwise entered the landfills. ‼️Plastic bags and films cannot be recycled in town curb recycling programs and therefore, items like bread bags, vegetable bags, poly mailers, paper towel/toilet paper wrap, and water bottle casing, typically end up in the regular trash. ♻️The SAVE club has partnered with a company called NexTrex and entered their 1000 lb challenge. KHS has one year to collect 1,000 pounds of recyclable plastic bags and films and deliver them to NexTrex. If we succeed, we can win a bench made from recycled materials to display on school grounds. ⭐📣Our goal is over halfway met and we still need 450 pounds of plastics. Plastics can be dropped off in the white or green bins throughout the school.

Reminder! The Kearny School District will hold its regular Board of Education meeting today, Monday March 17th at 7pm at the board office. The public is welcome to attend.

District students in grades 4 and 5 participated in A Day of Computing at Montclair State University!

East Coast students helping their West Coast peers! KHS REACH sponsored a fundraiser in order to donate directly to a school system in California that was devastated by the recent fires that ravaged large portions of the state, raising $900 going directly toward helping students in need at Canyon Elementary School, who will integrate 700 displaced students whose school buildings were lost in the fire.
