Pete the Peacock from Saint Peter’s University made a special visit to Kearny High School to celebrate Decision Day, surprising a few recently accepted students and even crossing paths with Kirby the Kardinal! 🎓🦚

Decision Day 2026 at Kearny High School! 🎓 Seniors kicked off their first official sendoff with the Signing of the Banner and wrapped it up with a class photo to mark the moment. Congratulations to the Class of 2026! We are wishing you all the best as you take your next step forward.

Roosevelt’s annual 6th Grade Science Fair, led by Mrs. Nolan, featured our budding scientists’ innovative experiments and curious thinking 🔬✨
Pre-K through 5th grade students, families, and staff were invited to explore and celebrate their work .

Garfield School honored our students for their hard work and dedication during our Marking Period 3 Assembly. We are proud to recognize the following achievements: Principal’s Honor Roll and Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance, Character/Effort, and Fitness/Sportsmanship.

Ms. Hatfield’s Success Class at KHS celebrated Earth Day by planting some marigolds and zinnias. The students had fun and are looking forward to tracking their growth.

Roosevelt’s Garden Club celebrated Earth Day! 🌎🌱
A special thank you to Mrs. Weber and Mrs. Nolan’s Garden Club for helping make our world a little greener and brighter. Their hard work, care, and dedication inspired all of us to appreciate and protect the beauty around us.

Kearny High School hosted a successful Bring Your Child to Work Day, where families enjoyed a full day of activities including crafts, hands-on culinary experiences, relay races, and a behind-the-scenes look at our workday.
Special thanks to the KHS Counseling Department for coordinating the event, our faculty and staff for leading engaging activities, student volunteers for guiding groups, and our security and maintenance teams for helping the day run smoothly. It’s always a favorite event that our children look forward to each year.

LMS hosted its annual Spanish Spelling Bee on April 21. After a marathon 17 rounds and 98 words, we are proud to announce our winner: 7th graderRouse Velasquez Aguilar. This marks our second annual Spanish Spelling Bee in celebration of National Bilingual/Multilingual Learner Advocacy Month. Congratulations to our winner!

We would also like to thank our announcers and judges: Ms. Connolly, Ms. Urra, Ms. Suleiman, Ms. Salvat-Vives, and Ms. Estrella Tran.

Heroes Among Us: During a recent field trip, Mr. Ribeiro’s swift and decisive action during a medical emergency saved a life. We are proud to recognize Mr. Ribeiro for his courage and unwavering commitment to helping those in need.

Kearny High School’s annual College and Career Fair is off to an amazing start! With representatives from technical schools, colleges, universities, medical facilities, and public service agencies—including police, fire, the Air Force, and the FBI—students are building valuable networking skills and exploring a wide range of future opportunities.
