We had an "out of this world" experience thanks to Mobile Ed's Skydome Planetarium presentation. Students were invited into the dome, where they learned about the stars, planets, and the sun. The dome experience provided students with a stellar real life feel to being in space.

Students continue to be recognized for their hard work and dedication during our summer program. They are supported and encouraged by the program teaching staff, as well as family members who attend other Kearny Schools Summer Programs in the building.

Students in the Elementary Summer Program have been enjoying some yummy treats after their hard work. They have made and gotten to enjoy rainbow fruit kabobs, ocean treats and even dirt cups!

Every week students are challenged on Thursday to use a particular set of materials to complete a challenge. This week students used pipe cleaners to create bubble wands. They enjoyed testing their creations out!

Join us for the Alumni & Friends Golf Outing August 17. See flier for more information or email valmeida@kearnyschools.com or lsilva@kearnyschools.com. Hope to see you there.

Students in the Elementary Summer Program enjoyed a visit from Oceans Rock. They learned about the animals that live in the ocean and even got to touch some of fossilized marine life. At the end, the students were able to dig for their own fossil to take home.

Students in our Elementary Summer Program continue to shine. This week these students have been recognized for being helpful, kind and enthusiastic learners. We are so proud of all of their hard work!

Students wasted no time getting hard to work in the summer program. Students were recognized by their program teachers for working hard, being kind and trying their best! They were given a certificate of recognition and got to choose a prize from our large prize box. We are so proud of our students!

Thank you Dr. Carvalho @lausdsup for taking the time to meet with me and to share some of your insights on education. Congratulations on all of the great things happening at LAUSD!

Earlier this month, KHS celebrated 30 seniors with a ceremony for their accomplishment of earning the Seal of Biliteracy Award. We look forward to them wearing their medals with pride at today's graduation!

Congratulations Lincoln Middle School Class of 2023!!! #KearnyPride

Today at Lincoln Middle School, we honored Board of Education member Mr. Bryan Granelli with the dedication of two benches in his memory. We will always remember Mr. Granelli's service and commitment to the students of the Kearny School District.

KHS senior and ESL student Gilbert Barros Delgado was recently recognized and awarded a scholarship by the New Jersey Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (NJTESOL). Gilbert was one of two students in the state selected to receive the Seal of Biliteracy scholarship. He was eligible to apply for the scholarship because he successfully demonstrated proficiency in English and Portuguese. Congratulations, Gilbert!

The Title III ESL/Bilingual Family Engagement team recently hosted the Grand Finale event for our students and their families at the Kearny Public Library. Families enjoyed food, music, crafts, and received information regarding summer programs available within the community. A very special thank you to KPL for hosting the event and for our KHS student volunteers. We are also grateful for the members of the community who donated goods and services to make this event a success: Shoprite, BJs, Red Bulls, Dunkin Donuts, April's Bakery, Let's Make It Cute, Bow Mania Boutique, Liberty Family Success Center and the Kearny Board of Health. We also acknowledge the hard work of Mrs. Kryshak-Baptista, Mrs. Ferreira, Mrs. Hinostroza, and Mrs. Villacis for making this all possible.
