AP United States History students celebrated the culmination of two years of study during their annual APUSH Night. They studied for the AP Exam while eating dinner, playing games, and listening to music.


ESL/Bilingual families were invited to a STEAM event at KHS. It was a fun Saturday morning building bridges, racing balloon race cars, and flying paper airplanes. Prizes were awarded to the best-constructed bridge, the longest-running race car, and the farthest-flying airplane.

Ken Belson, journalist for the New York Times, visited the Kearnian staff last week. Mr. Belson shared advice on accessing a career in journalism, including what to study in college. Everyone enjoyed his interesting stories from his time working at The New York Times.



KHS Project Graduation Volleyball Tournament is underway! May the best team win! #KearnyPride




The Spanish Language and Cultural Appreciation group met in the KHS instructional kitchen for a lesson on how to make the Peruvian dish Lomo Saltado. The lesson was led by Ms. Tellez and Ms. Viso. The dish was delicious and the recipe is easy to follow (see pictures). A special thank you to Chef Carratura for assisting the class with navigating his classroom. As an added bonus, Ms. Del Rio's ESL students created a book of their favorite recipes to share with the staff participating in the event. It was a treat for all involved!

The Project Graduation Volleyball Tournament will be held on Friday, April 21st in the Kearny High School gymnasium. Doors open at 5:30 pm and games begin at 6:30 pm. General Admission & Players: $5.00; Students with ID's and Senior Citizens Admission is $3.00
