Schuyler School - Week of Respect - Day 5
Students wore tie dye or peace signs to show we enjoy a peaceful school where everyone respects each other.

This year the Schuyler school Physical Education classes started a Jump Rope Club and a Plank Club that will run throughout the school year. Both clubs are offered to all students in grades 3-6, with a goal of improving your score each week by increasing the time they can hold themselves in plank position or the length of time they can continuously jump rope without stopping. Both clubs have really taken off with the students challenging themselves as well as their classmates each week in friendly competition.

When we respect each other everyone feels safe and comfortable! To celebrate our students wore their favorite comfy clothing!

Schuyler School - The Grade 4 ESL students are learning how to measure distance and motion using various tools: rulers, meter sticks, yardsticks, tape measures, and stopwatches. To further enhance their understanding of the content, the class participated in a hands-on activity. To measure distance, they each made a paper airplane and flew it 3 times. Then they were paired with a partner to use a tape measure to determine how far their plane traveled and whose plane traveled farther. To measure motion, the class had a racewalking competition and their speed was measured by a stopwatch. Afterward, students shared their reflections about the activity.

Schuyler School - To kick off our Week of Respect all students were invited to decorate a shirt with things that represent and show respect for themselves. Then they wore them to school today for our 'Me Shirt" celebration!
