All schools will be closed November 2–6, 2026, in observance of Election Day, Veterans Day, and Teacher Convention. Classes will resume on Monday, November 9.

Schuyler School - Special birthday celebration for all our students with a birthday in October!

Schuyler School - Today our Junior Peers read a Halloween story and then completed an activity with our first grade and kindergarten students. They had so much fun!

Schuyler School became a pumpkin farm this morning and all our PreK students got to pick a pumpkin!

Schuyler School - Building a Chain of Respect - Students showed how they can build respect and kindness one chain at a time by writing they are respectful and kind!

Schuyler School - The operating room was buzzing with excitement as students in Mrs. Cecere’s homeroom performed text feature surgery on their Frankenstein patients! Each “surgeon” was provided with a custom surgical kit complete with a nonfiction text and Band-Aid labels to help treat their patient. Armed with surgical supplies and knowledge of nonfiction text features, students followed step by step procedures to complete the operation. A monster amount of fun was had as students brought this reading skill and their text feature knowledge into action!

Schuyler School - To close our 5 Senses Domain 2 of Amplify Knowledge, Schuyler School Kindergarten students participated in a fun, hands on Braille activity!
Students were able to see their names written in Braille and place gems over the raised dots to feel what their names would be like in Braille! It was such a fun and meaningful way to wrap up everything we learned! 💚”

Schuyler School - To wrap up or learning of The Five Senses in Amplify Knowledge, Ms. Elsmore’s Kindergarten class explored how people experience the world differently when one of their senses is impaired. After learning about inspiring individuals like Ray Charles and Helen Keller, our kindergarteners were so excited to learn how to sign their own names using sign language! Such a special and fun way to end our Five Senses unit!”

📷 Imagine a friend sends you a funny photo. Would you post it, pause and ask permission, or keep it private?
Ask your child to explain their choice. Talk about privacy, permission, and how sharing something online might affect someone else.
Sometimes responsible digital citizenship begins with a moment of reflection.

Schuyler School - Sixth graders learned about Ancient Mesopotami and the importance of the ziggurat. They built models of the ziggurat using available recycled materials.

We're continuing Digital Citizenship Week by exploring how our online activity shapes the way others see us.
❤️Likes, comments, photos, usernames, and other digital choices can create an impression, but do they tell the whole story?
Ask your child: If someone only knew you through your online activity, what might they assume about you?
Today's reminder: A digital footprint tells a story, but it may not tell the whole story.

Schuyler School - Students in third grade celebrated the end of Unit 1 with a The Wind in the Willows themed day. Students participated in a STEM challenge to create a new boat for Ratty that can hold the weight of the most pennies. Students then used Legos to recreate Toad Hall to protect Mr. Toad from the weasels and ferrets. They also created headbands of their favorite character in the book. They ended the day enjoying a snack and watching the animated version of the story.

Being a good digital citizen means learning to communicate responsibly, protect our privacy, think critically, and understand how our digital choices affect others.
Throughout the week, the Kearny School District will share five simple activities and conversation starters for classrooms and families.
