Schuyler School - Today Ms.Avino’s Pre-K class got a special visit from both the Grinch and our principal, Mrs.Iacono. Mrs.Iacono read to our class How the Grinch Lost Christmas! We were so excited to listen to the story and get to meet the Grinch.

Ms. DeRay's class had a week full of fun holiday activities! They made Peppermint Hot Chocolate Play-Doh, Salt Dough Ornaments, Reindeer Food, and Gingerbread Houses!! These little elves were busy crafting and making memories before break!

Schuyler School - What a WOW experience we had today for our Prek 4 classes. One of our classmates Jack Leadbeater’s dad came to share all his knowledge, tools and hands on experiences on architecture with Ms.Hoeller, Ms.Deray and Ms.Avino’s classes. Thank you to our own Architect, Mr. Leadbeater for a great day of learning and fun!

🔔Happy Holidays from the Kearny School District! All schools will be closed from 12/24 through 1/1/25. Schools will reopen on Thursday, January 2nd on a normal schedule.
Schuyler School - To celebrate the upcoming winter season, Ms Twesten’s class made fake snow to create Arctic animal habitats. The students had a lot of messy fun!
Schuyler School - Our Grade 5 ESL students have learned that a food web is a complex network of interconnected food chains. In a food chain, producers, consumers, and decomposers each play a distinct role in the flow of energy. Students used pattern blocks to build organisms that represented each category.

🔔Reminder! Kearny School District will operate on a single session schedule on Monday, 12/23. All students in grades PreK-12 will be dismissed at 12:54 for Winter Break.

Schuyler School - Ten of our students were selected for exemplary citizenship to participate in our 'Shop with a Cop" program. Special thanks to the Kearny Police Department!
Congratulations to the winners of Kearny School District's first-ever iReady reading contest! Students from each of our elementary schools participated in "12 Days of iReady," competing for the title of "top performing" class in each grade level by having the most passed lessons. Great job, readers!
Schuyler School - Congratulations to our homeroom classes who had the best attendance for November! Ms. Hoeller's and Ms. Esparra's classes each only had three unexcused absences for the month!
