KHS: On Thursday, May 8, 2025, the Kearny School District hosted its Annual Art Show in the Kearny High School Atrium, showcasing an impressive range of student artwork from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Art pieces were submitted by students from Washington School, Franklin School, Garfield School, Schuyler School, Roosevelt School, Lincoln Middle School, and Kearny High School. Art teachers from across the district carefully selected outstanding works to be featured. Each participating school had student submissions recognized with First, Second, and Third Place awards. Your support not only made the event special—it also highlighted the incredible talents, creativity, and hard work of our students.

The Novice B boat took 1st place in their heat to qualify for finals, but unfortunately didn’t place. The boy’s lightweight 4+ took third at states and qualified for nationals. And the varsity boys came in second to qualify for finals, but didn’t place, unfortunately, but to bring home a few medals and have quite a few boats make it to the finals was absolutely amazing. On Wednesday April 23, KHS students visited the Pequest Trout Hatchery in Oxford, NJ. Students toured the facility, learned about the rainbow trout that are raised on site and then stocked in public waters across the state. In addition to a tour of the facility, raceways (concrete holding tanks) and nursery, students learned how to cast and fish on site at the hatchery’s educational pond. Students learned about fishing, forestry and natural resources and it was an educational and recreational fun day!
