Students in Mr. Torre’s and Mr. McBride’s classes celebrated Computer Science Education Week by completing a Breakout EDU challenge. Students collaborated, applied critical thinking, and worked against the clock to save internet access—and most importantly, to Breakout! Special thanks to Mrs. Amenta for hosting and helping us coordinate this activity! #CSRocks #ComputerScienceEducationWeek

On November 21, 2025, KHS Juniors attended the Tunnel to Towers - 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit. This exhibit is designed to pay tribute to all who lost their lives and to honor the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) members. This educational exhibit is designed to help visitors learn from artifacts, steel beams from the towers, recordings of first responders' radio transmissions, and documentary videos. More importantly, students listened and spoke to First Responders who survived the 9/11 attack. KHS students had this unique opportunity thanks to the school district's partnership with Mr. Martin Nystrom.

Ms. Santos’s U.S. History 1 class period 8 visited Mrs. Hatfield's period eight class. Ms. Santos’s class read about significant historical events that led to the development of Thanksgiving celebrations. Students had a “historical Card” representing a moment in time. After students completed their presentations, they worked with Mrs. Hatfield’s students on an arts-and-crafts activity. Students worked together to build Turkeys. Students engaged with each other, helping them develop their motor skills. This great activity fostered community, empathy and kindness.

Ms. Klein’s class celebrated Thanksgiving today at Franklin School!
Students listened to Thanksgiving stories, shared what they are thankful for, and had fun making festive turkey headbands. It was a wonderful way to practice communication skills and celebrate together as a classroom community. 🦃🧡
