Happy Valentine's Day from Garfield School!




Mrs. Millar's preschool class at Garfield School celebrate Valentines Day with lots of love ❤️

Garfield School: Mrs. Gerbasio's sixth graders started their forces and energy unit this week. The students took part in six different hands-on activities demonstrating different topics, including Newton's laws of motion, magnetic forces, and potential gravitational energy! Keep up the fun work!




Sweet Science! Second graders in Mrs. Mancuso's class at Garfield School conducted hands‑on experiments using conversation candy hearts! Students sorted, categorized, and graphed the candies by color. They also observed the hearts and how they dissolved in different liquids. We love science!





Our classroom door is full of heart! 💘 Big thanks to Mrs. Mercedes, Ms. Concepcion’s wonderful teacher aide, for decorating it so beautifully for Valentine’s Day. It’s such a warm, cheerful touch for our students!

Students in Garfield School PE kicked off their very own Winter Olympic Games! Mrs. Coleman and Mr Tchalabi taught their students about some of the different events. Students competed in the bobsled, alpine skiiing, curling, luge and the penguin waddle!
Garfield School was proud to honor our amazing crossing guards today! They enjoyed coffee and donuts courtesy of the Garfield School PTA, while our students presented them with handmade cards, certificates, and a special poem read by the Student Council.

Ready for a nostalgia blast! 🎧📼 To celebrate the 90th day of school, Garfield School staff dressed up like it’s the 90s — think flannel, scrunchies, and retro cool. Our hallways were full of laughs, memories, and staff spirit.

Kindergarteners at Garfield School learned about Groundhog Day! 6 more weeks of winter ❄️

Mrs. Wei’s kindergarten class at Garfield School practiced blending letters to form words. ⛄❄️ After reading each word, students earned the chance to give Olaf a snowball: one snowball for nonsense words and two for real words. The students stayed engaged and had fun throughout the activity. ☃️
