
This week at Garfield School students are becoming worm experts! The Hudson County Improvement Authority presents fun facts about worms and information about composting. Students enjoyed taking a close look at worms living in their environment.





This week at Garfield School, the 4th and 5th graders in music class had their first lesson playing ukulele. They learned how to decode ukulele tab symbols and played their first three chords!




At Garfield School, Mrs. Gerbasio's 6th grade science classes were testing the quality of their pond water. Students are learning about ecosystems and habitats, including ponds, built by the students.

At Garfield School, Mrs. Kenig's 4th graders got to work with Mystery Science! Students made apple trappers and viewed how energy is transformed using a rubber band toy car.








Garfield School celebrated Unity Day by wearing orange and supporting kindness, acceptance and inclusion for all!


Garfield School is thrilled to announce the winners of our weekly i-Ready Math Contest! These mathletes dribbled their way through challenging problems and they scored big! Thanks to all classes for playing hard and bringing their A-game. Keep shooting for the stars, we'll be looking for a new set of winners this week!



Garfield School stduents in grades K-4 enjoyed an exciting and magic filled assembly presented by the Kearny Fire Department about Fire Saftey!

At Garfield School, Mrs. Coleman and Mr. Tchalabi's 2nd Grade Health classes wrapped up their Fire Safety Unit with a fun project!





Garfield School Patrols are working hard and playing with the kindergarten students. Patrols ran games such as Simon Says and Hot Potato!

At Garfield School, students enjoyed an exciting lesson presented by Elizabeth Gervasi from Achieve 3000! She visited Mrs. Berberian's class to present a lesson on Text Features.





Garfield School students are being "Superheroes" by stomping out bullying in our school! We are using our superpowers to be kind and inclusive!








Garfield School students enjoyed a "Safe and Comfortable" day to continue celebrating Respect Week!






Garfield School kicked off Respect Week by celebrating what makes us all unique! Monday is “Me” Shirt Day so students took their creativity to the next level by designing shirts and wearing them proudly to show what makes them special and unique!











At Garfield School, Ms. Concepcion and Mrs. Bifulco's class had fun learning and exploring pumpkins! Students also took home some pumpkin seeds!
