
The Kardinals Will Souza scores a career-high 39 points in yesterday's victory over the Ferris Bulldogs 60 - 51. Luis Rodriguez and Caleb Baptista each contributed 8 points and a great team effort.


āKearny High School held their annual Poetry Out Loud schoolwide competition on Thursday, January 9th. The student performers and the Emcees running the show worked hard to make it a night to remember for the families and friends in attendance and we are very proud of all of them. Our first place winner Isabella Held Gonzalez will be competing at the Region 6 Competition at Passaic County Community College on February 6th. Special thanks to teachers: Laurie Keim, Ashley Dlugosh, Ashli Cassidy, Shania Medina, Stacy Deluca and Patrick Cassidy for organizing this event and acting as judges for the program.
āPoetry Out Loud, a free national program sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation, encourages high school students across the country to learn about great works of classic and contemporary poetry through memorization and recitation. Not only do they share their interpretation and delivery of poetry; they also vie for awards and scholarships totaling $50,000.




Yesterday, the Lady Kards wrestled their first varsity match vs. Bogota/Ridgefieldāan exciting day for our program.

After 10 thrilling rounds consisting of vocabulary and spelling, 30 incredible students tackled over 80 challenging words with courage and skill.
A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Wilkins Rojas Jr., who emerged as our champion! šš Wilkins will proudly represent Lincoln Middle School at the Hudson County Spelling Bee, hosted by Hudson County Schools of Technology, on Saturday, February 8, 2025.

Kearny High School members of the FBLA club attended the FBLA North Central Summit at Seton Hall, where they had the opportunity to engage in a variety of workshops, including networking, resume building, public speaking, college preparation, and a Shark Tank-style competition. Overall, students enjoyed interacting with fellow FBLA members and gaining valuable insights from workshop leaders.

Franklin School Pre-K students wrapped up their clothing study with a special visit from the Kearny Fire Department! They learned all about how the firefighter's clothing and equipment helps keep them safe and protected. Thank you KFD for a great visit!








At KHS, Mr. Vega's honors chemistry classes were busy in the workshop, crafting ornaments over the last two days using redox reactions to plate pieces of steel with copper.









Kearny High School's Glamour Gals Chapter has been very busy over the last two months! The students have painted nails, made Thanksgiving crafts, and spent time with the amazing community at Alaris Health! This past week they made and wrote holiday cards for their friends at Alaris and are looking forward to their next visit in January!

šāØ The 10 ABA classes at Franklin School had an unforgettable Breakfast with Santa! Students enjoyed festive treats, holiday-themed crafts, and a delightful performance by the KHS Success students. Each class also created holiday decorations to deck the halls with cheer! The Franklin School Junior PEERS were fantastic elves, lending a hand to ensure every activity ran smoothly. Students also posed for pictures with Santa, courtesy of the Kearny Optimist Club. Huge thanks to Mrs. Klein and Mrs. Best for organizing this magical event. The students had a wonderful time creating memories with friends and are officially in the holiday spirit! āļøš
