Our students were recently awarded gift cards and certificates for their outstanding performance in the i-Ready Summer Math contest. Their hard work and dedication throughout the summer really paid off!

The Kearny High School K-Birds proudly performed patriotic music at Kearny's 4th Annual "Incredible Duck Race" on Saturday, September 20, 2024. Their inspiring performance added to the excitement of the event, which raised funds for various Elk charities. Students from the R.E.A.C.H. program also volunteered, contributing to the communityās efforts to support these important causes. It was a wonderful day of music, fun, and giving back!

The Kearny School District would like to recognize Ava Marinho, Annie Ludena, Melissa Mota and Taraji Mays for their outstanding volunteerism at the Latino Veterans of New Jersey Wrapping Fiesta, one of many events celebrating the contributions of Hispanic veterans and the Latino community. The student volunteers donated their time by creating care packages featuring commonly found bodega items for overseas soldiers. The care packages offer a taste of home and a closer connection to Hispanic culture.

Franklin School held a special 9/11 flag raising ceremony in front of the school in honor of those who risked their lives for our country. šļø


Garfield's 6th graders, accompanied by Mr. Policano and Principal Masters, solemnly commemorate the anniversary of 9/11 in front of the school's memorial flag.


The Kearny School District honors the lives lost and remembers the heroes who rose on 9/11. We will never forget.


On Friday, September 6th, Kearny High School began its pep rally with the 23rd annual 9/11 Flag Raising and Remembrance Ceremony. Led by Marty Nystrom and featuring families of Kearny residents who lost their lives in the attacks, the ceremony offered a moment to reflect and honor those from Kearny affected by the tragedy. We will never forget. šļø

The third annual Faculty Field Day, held on September 3, 2024, centered around teacher wellness. The event began with a keynote address by Dr. Katie Peters, who emphasized the value of kindness and empathy. Following the keynote, teachers participated in various wellness activities, including yoga, yard games, walking, painting, cooking, and more. The day concluded with a lively pop-up performance by Appetite for Instruction, an all-faculty band featuring Marlaina Melker on vocals, James Sickinger on guitar, John Kubowicz on keyboard, Jeremy Gorin on saxophone, and Salvatore Coffaro on drums. Inspired, teachers and staff are ready to welcome their students to an exciting year!
