The American Dream was brought to reality today, as Kearny High School was honored to host guest speakers from Univision and JP Morgan Chase. Univision News Anchor Noticias Jonathan Inoa, along with Univision Senior Director of Community Empowerment Bill Tipacti (KHS '90) and JP Morgan Chase Executive Director Marcos Tipacti (KHS '93) shared stories of their industrious journeys and insights about perseverance, goal setting, and turning aspirations into achievements.

From the canals of Venice to the peaks of the Alps, our KHS students embarked on an unforgettable European adventure this Spring Break, thanks to the Italian Club! Grazie mille to our amazing chaperones Michele Cacciotolo, Diogo Neto, Natalia Viso, Laurie Keim, Victoria Grimm, and Jennifer Mead for keeping an eye on our kids throughout this amazing trip.

🐰The bunny fun continues at Franklin School, where Mrs. Russo's 5th grade Science students created rabbit habitats and participated in a reflective discussion on their newfound knowledge of our furry friends.🐇

The Kearny School District will be closed beginning Friday, March 29 through Friday, April 5 for Spring Break. Schools will reopen on a regular schedule on Monday, April 8. We wish all of our students, family, and staff a relaxing and enjoyable time off.

The LMS Open House is open to the families of 6th grade Kearny residents. Doors open at 6pm.

📣 Attention 6th grade families! Lincoln Middle School will be hosting our first ever Open House on Tuesday, March 26th. We would like to welcome all current 6th grade students who are residents of Kearny. Doors will open at 6pm, at 121 Beech Street. We look forward to a great night!

The Kearny High School Battle of the Classes is on and the competition is in full swing! With Spring Spirit Week fueling the excitement, our students are diving into Penny Wars and a hallway school spirit contest. Huge shoutout to Mr. Correnti and the SGA for making it happen, and a big thank you to our esteemed judges: LMS 8th Grader Margaret Kelly and our central office administrators Karen Pichinin, Mercedes, Alves, and Mary Goffredo for coming out to judge the competition. Special thanks to our SGA docents: SGA Executive Board Secretary Ariana Martinez, SGA Executive Board Treasurer Raquel Lamego, and SGA President Ravyn Mejias for touring the halls facilitating the fun!

Roosevelt Elementary School students participated in a Recognition Wall as part of our Elementary Wellness Week. Each student was encouraged to write a note of gratitude, of positivity, or a shout out to a friend or helper. We "recognize" all of our students and staff and appreciate your hard work and commitment to excellence, today and every day!

Our Winter Sports athletes were recognized at last night's Board of Education Meeting. Congratulations to our Indoor Track, Bowling, Girls and Boys Basketball, Girls and Boys Swimming, Wrestling, and Ice Hockey teams on a great season and special thanks to our players and coaches for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence.

🌿☀️Garfield Students celebrated Elementary School Wellness Week and enjoyed the sunny day with their peers by participating in a "Chalk the Walk" activity, in which the sidewalks were decorated with messages of positivity and inspiration.

KHS Medical and Dental students visited Roosevelt School to kick off Elementary Wellness Week. While there, the high schoolers conducted mini-lessons on Nutrition and Oral Health, proper toothbrushing techniques, the importance of handwashing, and implementing healthy habits at school and home.

🎭The original cast of the 2020 production of The Addams Family attended the closing night show on Saturday, March 16, surprising Ms. Gonzalez and showing their support of 2024 players. It was a bittersweet moment for the cast of 2020 to see the production, as the doors of KHS closed one week prior to their showtime. During the show, the 2020 cast jumped in and helped with the concession stand and door sales. At the end of the show, the 2020 and 2024 cast gathered on the stage for photos. Each 2020 cast member stood next to the character they were supposed to portray. The evening was extremely emotional for all. When talking with the 2020 cast, they said, "Perhaps it was meant to be that we couldn't put on the play, as this cast blew it out of the water! They are incredible and each actor is spot on with their character!" This night gave closure for the 2020 cast to see the production come to life, and an opportunity to meet up with their own "Addams Family."🎭

Michael Clifford from the Lyndhurst Police Department and the Police Pipes and Drums of Bergen County surprised our Kearny High School students this morning with an array of music on the bag pipes. Later, he made a visit to Ms. Hatfield's Success classroom for their St. Patrick's Day Celebration with Ms. Walsh's 6th grade class.
