Mrs. Sansone and Ms. Hansen’s senior English classes gathered in a circle on the stage in the KHS auditorium for one final story time on their last full day of high school. Having begun their educational journeys sitting together in a circle for story time as Kindergartners, they shared a true full circle moment one last time before graduation. Mrs. Sansone read the inspirational classic Oh, the Places You’ll Go! by Dr. Seuss, reminding students that they have the strength, courage and determination to move mountains as they begin their next chapter.

We are so proud to recognize 157 multilingual students—which represents over 30% of our entire senior class! 🌍❤️ This year's outstanding seniors demonstrated official proficiency in 10 different languages: 🇪🇸 Spanish | 🇵🇹 Portuguese | 🇯🇵 Japanese | 🇮🇹 Italian | 🇮🇳 Hindi | 🇰🇷 Korean | 🇳🇵 Nepali | 🇧🇦 Bosnian | 🇭🇷 Croatian | Serbo-Croatian

Attendees also heard inspiring remarks from Superintendent Encarnacao. We are thrilled to share that Superintendent Encarnacao was recently named the 2026 Seal of Biliteracy Superintendent of the Year by NJTESOL, a well-deserved honor recognizing her dedication to supporting our multilingual students.🏅 🏆👏

Students in the Franklin School MD program enjoyed a visit to LifeTown, a fully inclusive and accessible center designed to provide hands-on learning experiences. From learning about healthy eating habits and the importance of good oral hygiene to practical life skills such as a trip to Shop Rite, loading the dryer and riding bikes around town, the visit provided a safe space for students to learn and grow in a fun and supportive environment.

Congratulations to Garfield School's May Students of the Month!

Garfield School proudly donated 120 used eyeglasses and hearing aids to support Alexander Reis, KHS sophomore and Life Scout with Troup 305, with his Eagle Scout project. We are honored to support Alex's commitment to service and helping others in the community.

Join us on June 1st for our World Cup Soccer Kick-Off Tournament at Harvey Field! Kickoff for all grades begins at 3:45 PM, and everyone is welcome to come out support the teams.

We’ll have concessions available with light refreshments, along with special performances by some of our talented middle school students. We hope to see you there for an exciting afternoon of soccer, school spirit, and community!

Students in Mrs. Curry’s KEEP Class at Garfield School showed off their technological know-how at the school’s STEM Fair.

Students in grades 3-6 collaborated to create inventions designed to engage, inspire, and make everyday life a little more efficient. From coding with Twister, to a sip counter, to a mood-tracking lullaby stuffie, Garfield’s young innovators demonstrated creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving at every turn. 💡✨

Due to the NJ Primary Election Day on June 2, 2026, all schools will operate on a single session schedule. Students in grades PreK-12 will be dismissed at 12:54pm.

On Memorial Day, the Kearny School District honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. We are forever grateful for their courage, dedication, and sacrifice. 🇺🇸
