📣 Due to the anticipated weather conditions, the Kearny School District will follow a delayed opening schedule tomorrow, Thursday, February 6.
🔔 PreK through grade six will arrive at 10:00am and grades seven through twelve will arrive at 9:50 am.
⚠️ There will be no Right at School morning care.
⚠️ We will re-evaluate the weather conditions in the morning and communicate any necessary information. Thank you.

Mrs. Hill’s 6th grade Social Studies class from Washington learned about the Nile River and presented their projects today!
The 6th grade LLD students joined KHS Success classes for a hands-on Life Skills event, learning essential tasks like doing laundry and making a quick meal. Huge thanks to our amazing teachers and aides for making this experience so meaningful!

Ms. Afayee and her Student Council from Washington School visited PreK through 2nd grade classrooms this week in honor of The Great Kindness Challenge. They talked about the importance of kindness and read stories revolving around the theme of kindness! 💖 #greatkindnesschallenge

At the January Board meeting, 21 Kearny teachers were recognized for earning their ESL certifications through a partnership with Fairleigh Dickinson University. Of those 21 teachers, 11 also earned their Bilingual certification. Teachers and their families were invited to a reception followed by recognition at the Board meeting with a certificate. Congratulations to all these inspiring teachers for their notable accomplishments and for their dedication to our district's students!
Mrs. Mirigliani’s students from Washington graduated from Text Feature Medical School today! The doctors had to diagnose their patients using their knowledge of text features.

Washington School held their Winter Concert earlier this week. A huge thank you to Mr. Burzynski and Ms. Chen for putting on a great show!
The Preschoolers in Mrs. Smyth and Ms. Martinez’s class from Washington completed a 5 week study on Architecture. Together they chose to create the Empire State Building. They learned how to plan, design, measure, problem solve, and how to work together. They also created their own homes during the study too!
