Washington School 3rd graders enjoyed making Gingerbread Houses today!

Congratulations to Washington School's December Student of the Month recipients!

Ms. Weiss from Washington shared some Hanukkah traditions with Miss Agbing and Miss Savage’s classes. They celebrated by playing dreidel!

In celebration of our PreK Light Study, Washington School had so much fun watching, singing and dancing along to “The Laser Show”. We learned where lights come from, how do we use light, what happens when we block light and what kind of things does light shine through. 🔦💡🚨

Mrs. Hills class from Washington School won the NJSLA Fall Facts Event. Students participated in a pumpkin toss game only if they did their NJSLA Math Facts Packets created and provided by the Washington School data team. As a reward the students received a trophy and incentive day.

Mrs. DaSilva Brown's PreK from Washington celebrated the end of their Seed Study with some great activities that they got to share with their family and friends. Students got to use instruments made with seeds, make seed collages, use magnifying glasses to look at different kinds of seeds, pretend play in their garden, count seeds, and read books about seeds! We even used checklists to check off all the activities we completed ✔️ 🌱

Teacher of the Year: Mrs. Rana Stanley is an exceptional Kindergarten teacher whose classroom radiates warmth, curiosity, and joy. Her kindness, patience, and unwavering professionalism create a nurturing environment where our youngest learners flourish. She inspires not only her students, but all of us who have the privilege of working alongside her. Educational Service Professional of the Year: As our LDTC, Mrs. Sandra Tavares Oliveira is a guiding light for students, families, and staff. She is always ready to lend a helping hand, offer support, and ensure every student receives the tools they need to succeed. Her compassion and commitment truly make a difference throughout our school community. We are incredibly proud to celebrate these two outstanding educators. Their passion and dedication reflect the very best of Washington School, and we are honored to call them part of our family. Washington School wrapped up 5th annual Thanksgiving Eve Parade in the best way! 🎉 Our 3rd and 4th graders absolutely crushed it with their balloon creations. Mr. Adamski & Mr. Ruiz kept the energy high as our MCs, while Mr. Burzynski brought all the behind-the-scenes magic. Washington School would like to thank the Kearny/Belleville Elks for once again providing a wonderful Thanksgiving feast for our LLD students. We are truly grateful for your continued support and generosity. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food and appreciated the chance to relax, socialize, and spend time with their friends. Your kindness helps make moments like these so special for our school community. Thank you for everything you do! 🦃

Santa landed at Washington School today for Pictures with Santa!

The Preschoolers in Mrs. Smyth and Ms. Martinez’s class from Washington were busy following a recipe to make Applesauce for the Seed Study. Two of their wonderful classroom parents volunteered their time to help them out. They practiced rinsing fruit, measuring ingredients and incorporating new vocabulary. Bon appetite to our Washington School Preschoolers!
