The 6th grade ESL/ Bilingual students from Washington wrapped up their learning on technology and extraordinary people by visiting the 1st Cerebral Palsy Center in Belleville, NJ.   The students were able to visit classrooms with children of all ages, talk to them in both English and Spanish & learn more about their communication devices. Thank you to Mr. Keith Rygiel for having us, our children learned so much & enjoyed their visit.

Washington School won the school division at the Annual Project Graduation Volleyball Game! Although we lost in the town wide championship final game to the Kearny High School Juniors, we had a blast competing!

Ms. DaSilva Brown’s class from Washington finished their Architecture Study with a celebration. They built their own buildings and made “PreK City”. The city had skyscrapers, houses, bridges, hospitals, grocery stores, a policy station and even an airport. We even had some family come visit and explore different centers with architecture activities. 🌇🌉🏠

National Library Week was during our Spring Break, but Washington isn't going to let the opportunity to celebrate our Ms. Bird go by. Washington School is so grateful for Ms. Bird and everything she brings to Washington. She is enthusiastic, creative, and is always thinking up new ways to keep our kids engaged in literacy. You can often find her cooking up new ideas for the library and she adds flare to our hallways with her eye catching and engaging bulletin boards. Thank you Ms. Bird for being the best librarian Washington School could ask for! 📚

A few weeks ago Washington School posted about our student Jadiel buying a bike from our School Store for his sister using his School Bucks. When we posted the story on social media, Jadiel’s story warmed the heart of many and Joe from @therepairsquare wanted to reward Jadiel for his heartwarming gesture. Joe reached out to us at Washington and wanted to get Jadiel the bike of his dreams! Not only that, Joe also got Jadiel some extra goodies from his favorite anime shows to top it all off. Washington School is blown away by Joe and his kind and generous gift to Jadiel. Kindness matters! You never know who you might inspire next. They repair and sell phones, tablets, computers, and game consoles. They also give back to their local school community by servicing all Harrison school Chromebooks for the Board of Education!

Students in Mrs. Walsh and Mr. Flannery’s classes at Washington wrapped up their unit on seed plants with a hands-on planting project. They planted their very own lawns for their casitas, bringing their learning to life in a fun and meaningful way. We’re so proud of their hard work and growing knowledge!
