Roosevelt School hosted their annual Bagels and Bagpipes event bright and early on St. Patrick’s Day and it was a lucky start to the day! A huge thank you to the PTA for planning and hosting this lively event and bringing so much Irish cheer to our school community. A special thank you to our superintendent, Mrs. Encarnacao, for joining in on the fun and sham-rocking with us! We’re so fortunate to have such wonderful support, this event was truly worth its weight in gold!

Tomorrow, Wednesday, February 25, schools will open on a delayed opening schedule. Students in grades PreK-6 should arrive by 10:00am and students in grades 7-12 should arrive by 9:50am.
The single session and professional development day for staff that was originally scheduled for tomorrow is canceled. Therefore, we will be following a regular dismissal time schedule. Students in grades PK-6 will dismiss at 3:03pm and students in grades 7-12 will dismiss at 2:38pm.
Breakfast and lunch will be served to students. There will be no Right at School morning care but there will be Right at School after care services.

As Theodore Roosevelt once said, “It is true of the Nation, as of the individual, that the greatest doer must also be a great dreamer.” In our schools, we see the leaders of tomorrow. In collaboration with the Hudson County Transportation Management Association and the Roosevelt School PTA, Roosevelt School celebrated their crossing guards - Eusebio, Mindy, Norma, and Robert - in recognition of their selfless dedication and service to our school community.

Roosevelt’s sixth grade Peer leaders visited PreK through 2nd grade classrooms for No Name Calling Week and read stories focusing on kindness in our community.
🌎Roosevelt School held a recycling contest during the months of December and January. Students who brought in the most plastic were recognized and given a prize for their outstanding efforts and commitment to helping our schools care for the environment. Roosevelt School, in partnership with Kearny High School, has collected over 500 pounds of plastic! ♻️
