The SRO assignment is unique within the law enforcement profession. These sworn law enforcement officers fill a three-part role, serving as informal mentors or counselors, law educators, and law enforcement officers to support the students and communities they serve. They are valuable and essential members of the education community who deserve unwavering respect and support from the public in the pursuit of keeping schools and students safe.
School Resource Officers SGT Grimm , Officer Miranda and Officer Perez
I would like to extend our sincere thanks for your participation and for the continued support you provide to our school community.
Your presence, professionalism, and willingness to engage with our students and staff made a meaningful impact. The positive relationships you build each day and reinforce the sense of safety and trust within our school.
We truly appreciate the time, energy, and care you invest in supporting our students—not only during special events, but also throughout the entire year. Your commitment does not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for the partnership we share.
Thank you again for everything you do for us.
Sincerely,
KHS

The Kearny School District honors Presidents’ Day as we reflect on the leadership, vision, and service that have shaped our nation. As Theodore Roosevelt once said, “It is true of the Nation, as of the individual, that the greatest doer must also be a great dreamer.” In our schools, we see the leaders of tomorrow. May we continue to inspire our students to dream boldly and lead with courage and integrity.

This week, our Intro to Law students conducted their first Mock Trial of the year, researching and carrying out the Mock Trial case of the State of NJ v. Charlie Quinn. Each student was given a specific role to play to create a vivid and accurate depiction of a criminal trial. Each student performed his or her roles and duties masterfully, creating an environment that mimicked what a true courtroom would be like. We are proud of the work that they put into their roles, and they had an incredibly fun time acting out the trial. A big thank you to all the faculty and administrators who helped to facilitate this experience for our KHS upperclassmen!
