Congratulations to Garfield School's November Students of the Month!
Today is Crossing Guard Appreciation Day! Garfield School recognized our crossing guard, Pamela Washington for keeping our students safe while walking to and from school. The Junior Peers showered her with cards that were signed by all of our students, and the Hudson County Improvement Authority awarded Pamela with a plaque. A special thanks to KPD Lt. Rakowski for attending the ceremony and recognizing Pamela's contribution to our community.
Garfield School: Mrs. Gerbasio's 6th-grade classes are making board games that demonstrate competition in the wild. Her classes are learning about ecosystems and the types of organism interactions.
In honor of World Wildlife Conservation Day, the Lincoln Middle School EcoSchools cohort visited Garfield School's second graders to engage in a vibrant coloring activity. The LMS students crafted coloring books made from hand-drawn sketches of endangered species. Special thanks to Mrs. Cristalli for coordinating this event!🐼🐅

Garfield School: Teachers and staff were surprised with a wonderful breakfast provided by "Whisk It All" Cafe & Bakery located in Glen Ridge. Everyone was so appreciative of the delicious coffee, scones and muffins!
Garfield School: Mrs. Gerbasio’s sixth graders are learning about predation using a hands-on activity involving barn owls and field mice.
Garfield School: Peer students teamed up with the Knights of Columbus to collect canned goods for the Kearny food pantry, helping support those in need in our community.
