Kindergarteners at Garfield School learned about Groundhog Day! 6 more weeks of winter ❄️

Mrs. Wei’s kindergarten class at Garfield School practiced blending letters to form words. ⛄❄️ After reading each word, students earned the chance to give Olaf a snowball: one snowball for nonsense words and two for real words. The students stayed engaged and had fun throughout the activity. ☃️

Ever wondered how a sketch on a screen becomes something you can hold? Garfield School fifth grade KEEP students did — and they found out at the public library! 📚➡️🖥️➡️🖨️ Students designed in Tinkercad with Ms. Curry in their classroom and then visited the Kearny Public Library and learned about 3D printing. Students watched their creations come to life. From pixels to print — pure joy and curiosity ✨Thank you to the Kearny Public Library!!!!

❄️🎶 Winter magic at Garfield! 🎶❄️ Garfield School Winter Concert, proudly led by Mr. Burzynski and Ms. Chen was full of joyful student performances, cozy community vibes, and moments that’ll warmed our hearts.









Garfield School second graders in Ms. Seeley and Ms. Gallagher's class are hooked on metamorphosis! 🦋❤️ Our students turned pasta and beans into 3D butterfly life-cycle models — eggs, caterpillars, chrysalises, and adults — and brought science to life.






Garfield School: Mrs. Kenig's fourth grade class turned a science lesson into a marble-run masterpiece — designing, testing, and cheering as ideas came to life. From wild twists to careful adjustments, every run taught them something new about physics and teamwork. 🧠💡

Garfield School: Students in Mrs. Lonnay’s 6th-grade social studies class wrapped up their unit on Ancient Egypt! They explored the lives of ancient pharaohs and learned about the process of mummification before using paper mâché to create depictions of pharaohs and decorate mummy sarcophagi. A hands-on way to bring history to life! 🏺










Garfield School celebrated the 80th day of school by stepping back into the 1980s — students and staff showed up in neon, leg warmers, retro tees, and big hair!







Students in Garfield School 2nd grade KEEP program became little architects today—building famous structures with different materials!





Mrs. Pronti’s kindergarteners at Garfield School turned addition into a hands-on adventure today — dry-erase markers, colorful counters, lots of giggles, and real learning in action! Watching little learners draw, count, and trade counters made abstract math ideas click. What a wonderful lesson!
