We are looking forward to our Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences and the opportunity to connect with you about your child’s progress. Conference appointments will be available this Wednesday (1 week prior) via the Genesis Parent Portal.
Date: Wednesday, March 11th
In-Person Conferences: 5:00–6:20 PM in teachers’ classrooms
(If you are meeting with a traveling teacher, such as Health or Spanish, please check Google Classroom for the teacher’s location.)
Virtual Conferences: 6:30–8:00 PM via google meet. This link can be found in the conference tab in Genesis Parent Portal.
All conferences are by appointment only and must be scheduled through the Genesis Conferences tab. Please note that parents will not be permitted in the building during the virtual conference time.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, February 25, schools will open on a delayed opening schedule. Students in grades PreK-6 should arrive by 10:00am and students in grades 7-12 should arrive by 9:50am.
The single session and professional development day for staff that was originally scheduled for tomorrow is canceled. Therefore, we will be following a regular dismissal time schedule. Students in grades PK-6 will dismiss at 3:03pm and students in grades 7-12 will dismiss at 2:38pm.
Breakfast and lunch will be served to students. There will be no Right at School morning care but there will be Right at School after care services.

The Kearny School District honors Presidents’ Day as we reflect on the leadership, vision, and service that have shaped our nation. As Theodore Roosevelt once said, “It is true of the Nation, as of the individual, that the greatest doer must also be a great dreamer.” In our schools, we see the leaders of tomorrow. LMS Open House 2026. Thursday, February 19th. This is a free event for all incoming 7th and/or 8th graders who reside in Kearny. If you go to a private or parochial school and wondering what we have to offer, you are invited to come check us out. DOORS OPEN AT 5:45PM. Please give yourself time to find parking.
Important LMS drop off update: Beech Street will be closed this Friday, February 13th, for snow removal. For those who drop off students on Beech street please plan accordingly. 7th grade students will still enter via Beech street however no cars will be allowed on the block until snow removal is complete. If additional time is needed and Friday is affected, I will notify all families. Thank you.

as part of their Community Based Instruction program and RevNJ initiative. Mayor Carol Jean Doyle gave them a tour which included the court room and mayor's office. students learned about Kearny, the various departments housed in Town hall, the mayor's job and asked many wonderful questions. Thanks Mayor Doyle for a fun and informative trip!

All Kearny School District schools will be open and operating on a regular schedule tomorrow: Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
LMS will host our annual open house for all incoming 7th graders. This is a free event for all residents of Kearny who will enter 7th or 8th grade in the 26-27 school year.
