While there, students were able to hear from keynote speaker, Jamar Root, about his experiences and were educated on how to discover their passion and find success. Students also were able to network with other individuals from schools all over New Jersey and work together to create action plans regarding current school issues. Several members of the SGA got up in front of a plethora of other students to ask questions and share their strategies for achieving their specific goals in relation to obstacles students face on a day-to-day basis.

A professional visited the Broadcasting classes today:
Today Mr. Zack Carlascio visited the KHS Broadcasting students to present a workshop on the use of lighting, shot framing, and composition to create emotion through cinematography. Zack presented a PowerPoint presentation for the students that engaged them in an active discussion on their interpretation of scenes from various hit series and films.
Together we led the class in a worksheet activity to reinforce what they learned before transitioning to a hands-on demonstration. During the demonstration, Zack worked with student volunteers to demonstrate the lighting process step by step using his professional equipment including RGB lighting and 4K camera.
The students tremendously benefited from hearing Zack's personal experiences in the industry, listening to his lecture on the importance of lighting and framing in film, and participating in his demonstration.
Great Job!!!
