The Student of the Month breakfast was held in the Media Center on October 26 at 7:45am.
There were 18 students nominated. Students were nominated in the History, Math, English, Athletics, Physical Education and Visual & Performing Arts. A student was also nominated for Citizenship.
The Kardinal Crown ( The Inspirational Educator of the Month) award, which is selected by students was Ms. Vella and Mrs.Lockard.

Engaging discussion strategies are a staple in Mrs. Dorney's and Mr. Orlowicz's classes, where students expand on topics and themes presented in their literature courses.





Students in Mr. Talone's Building and Trades courses master the art of construction design through careful craftsmanship. 🏗️👷🏽♀️








Mrs. Sansone's Freshman English students created poems from a single page of text, and then layered images over the page, allowing the poetic form to appear and shine through.

Every Tuesday and Wednesday, after school, room 226 turns into Video Game Central. KHS Video Game club meets for some friendly competition. While our Super Smash League players schedule and play their Competitive matches. Mario Kart and Over watch teams schedule and prepare for their Matches played on Wednesday and Thursday. Our club started in 2019 and even continued meetings online during the Pandemic. This is our second year of competitive play. We hope to have as much success as we did last year, with two gamers making the nationals in Florida!

Students at Kearny High School had the opportunity to sit down with Ms. Isabella Christiana, an admissions representative from the University of New Haven. Ms. Christiana gave an overview of the college's academic programs, majors/career paths, scholarship opportunities, campus life, study abroad and internship opportunities. Students participated in discussions and asked relevant questions which helped them gain more insight into what life at the university is like!

The Kearny High School Marching Band under the direction of band director, Dave Caravella; Assistant Band Director, Danny Conde; Percussion, Sanjay Pamaar; Band Front, Emily Chen; Color guard, Jamie Diaz; and Marching Unit, Michele Lombardi, received 3rd place out of 8 in Group 1A. They scored a 85.200 in the Championship of the Rose Band Tournament at West Essex Regional High School. The band also won a special award for best color guard!
Congrats to the staff and students of the KHS Band! What an awesome season!
Special thanks to the KHS Band Parents. The group provided food, snacks, & drinks at every competition. More importantly, they were at every event and are the best cheering squad! The band is VERY lucky to have their support.

Congratulations to the boy’s soccer team on reaching the Hudson County Tournament finals last night at Red Bull Arena. Our team played well but unfortunately it was not our day. Good luck in the State Tournament.

Congratulations to the Girls Soccer team on winning their 15th consecutive County Tournament Championship last night at Red Bull Arena in a penalty shootout over Bayonne.

The students in Mr. Mehnert class are detailing the Hero’s Journey from a Disney movie of their choosing to prepare themselves for The Odyssey. All groups have created movie posters showing all 12 steps of their character’s hero journey and have presented to the class.










In Mr. Mehnert's Freshman English class, students craft posters featuring their favorite movie characters depicting the Hero's Journey.




📽️ ACTION! Students in Mr. Miller's The Art of TV and Film class wrote, produced, and directed a compelling police investigation-style script while honing their skills with the green screen. 🎬
