Last month, Kearny High School teachers participated in a three-day Sheltered English Instruction (SEI) training led by Instructional Coach Stephani Estrella Tran. Throughout the training, teachers engaged in professional learning focused on second language acquisition, effective instructional strategies for multilingual learners, and resources to support language development through content. It was wonderful to see our educators collaborating, learning, and growing together as they continue to strengthen their practices to better support all students.

KHS: Kearny High School successfully hosted its First Annual Career Fair, providing students with a valuable opportunity to explore diverse career pathways. The event featured over 50 career opportunities, including local self-employed businesses, vocational and trade schools, community colleges, and civil service organizations. Students actively engaged with industry professionals, gaining insights into various fields and potential career paths. The event fostered meaningful interactions and informed decision-making for students as they plan for their futures. Thank you to all who participated and gave our students this wonderful opportunity. Parents, the students were outstanding with their behavior and how well they engaged with all the participants. KHS received countless compliments on our students and this is from individuals and organizations that have visited many schools. It is credit to our parents, teachers and our community. Thank you to all of our participants
