No "spooky, scary skeletons" here! Students in Ms. Pitti's class worked in groups to create a human size poster about the different body systems and they present to the class the functions, organs and diseases associated with these various systems.

KHS: Monday, 10/23, Kearny High School's Planet Earth class visited the Earth and Space Science Department at Rutgers University in Newark. They learned about and participated in geology and atmospheric studies. Our students were able to use equipment used in mineralogy, petrology, geophysics, atmospheric research, and petroleum geology. They used ground penetrating radar, saw how rock thin sections are made in a rock lab with a diamond saw, and played the Oil Game, simulating how geologists and oil companies determine where to drill for oil and gas. And pizza! Thank you to Jose Torre and Jen Mead for chaperoning with us, and to Rutgers for hosting us. Also feature here is a former student, Jack is a doctorate student of geology at Rutgers. He is a Kearny High School graduate who fell in love with geology when he took Planet Earth 7 years ago during his senior high school year. We are so proud of you!! GREAT TRIP!!!
