At KHS, Mrs. Perez's Freshman class worked collaboratively on the "A Puppy to Love" digital breakout. They had to solve clues based on math, color combinations, order Spanish numbers, and look for patterns. The student detectives used their communication and critical thinking skills to free the puppies. Great job, and special thanks to Mrs. Amenta for hosting this activity in the library!

KHS: All of Ms. Soja’s sophomore classes participated in the Valentine’s Day breakout room, hosted by Mrs. Amenta in the Media Center. Students used a variety of reasoning skills and group cooperation to solve complex riddles. Many were initially skeptical about the activity but they were the students who were reluctant to leave class until they solved the puzzle.

KHS: The Medical II class completed their OSHA healthcare industry certificates and received their wallet cards. This certification is a lifetime certification and never needs to be renewed. The students have worked each Friday during class since October, completing all of the modules needed to receive their certification. It is healthcare industry based and will be another certificate to add to their portfolios as well as assist them in their future employment efforts. Great Job Ms. Biondo!!

KHS: Ms. Viso and Mrs. Keim's Senior Humanities English classes collaborated to analyze and discuss the moral dilemmas faced by the famous Uruguayan rugby team that survived a plane crash in the Andes Mountains in 1972. After reading about the incident on CommonLit, completing a short writing assignment, and partaking in a Socratic Seminar, students were rewarded with clips from the biographical rendition of, Society of the Snow.
