On Wednesday April 23, KHS students visited the Pequest Trout Hatchery in Oxford, NJ. Students toured the facility, learned about the rainbow trout that are raised on site and then stocked in public waters across the state. In addition to a tour of the facility, raceways (concrete holding tanks) and nursery, students learned how to cast and fish on site at the hatchery’s educational pond. Students learned about fishing, forestry and natural resources and it was an educational and recreational fun day!

Today we're celebrating our exceptional administrative professionals whose dedication, organization, and support keep our school district running seamlessly - thank you for all that you do. 💼🌟

Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, legendary member of the iconic hip hop group Run DMC, energized Kearny High School today with an inspiring talk that encouraged students to dream big and pursue their passions.
Speaking on everything from comics and the Grammys to grammar and self-expression, the rap icon, author, philanthropist, and motivational speaker shared his personal journey—opening up about his battles with substance abuse, addiction, and mental health.
Addressing students during the April 22nd assembly, McDaniels reminded them:
“I’m not better, smarter, greater, or more talented than any of you. You already have the power and knowledge to be unstoppable. Music and education empower people. And remember—assignments don’t stop when school ends. They just get harder.”
