This year's KHS Poetry Out Loud 1st place winner is Haley Felix. Haley will now represent KHS at the Regional Competition at Passaic County Community College on February 5th 2026. She will be joining schools from Hudson, Passaic, and Bergen counties. As always, all of the student performers, emcees, lighting crew, and videographers did an amazing job at making the night another successful event. Our teacher judges: Ms. DeLuca, Ms. Dlugosh, and Mrs. Cassidy had a tough job as all of the participants did an excellent job.

Two Kearny High School students have placed in the AIA Newark & Suburban Architects Student Art Contest. Senior Briana Jaramillo won a BRONZE level award and sophomore Joelvis Fernandez won a GOLD level award. Their work will be on exhibition at the Newark Public Library where it will be showcased as part of the Student Art Show, with an opening reception on Saturday, January 17. Congratulations to them on this achievement!

The Soccer Coaches Association of New Jersey (SCANJ) held its 56th Annual Awards Banquet at the Pines Manor in Edison on January 4th. Benji Silva was recognized as a Second Team All-State Player as well as a United Soccer Coaches Regional All-American. Colin McKenna was recognized as a Second Team All-Sectional player while Dylan Ribeiro was honored as a Third Team All-Sectional Player. Justin Rivadeneyra was an Honorable Mention All Section Player.

💻Online PreK 4 & Kindergarten registration for the 2026–27 school year opens February 1. Placement is first come, first served.
🌈PreK 3 has limited seats and will be filled through a lottery. Parents must sign up between March 1st - 31st. The lottery will run in early April.
