Last evening, we proudly celebrated the induction of our newest members into a wide range of honor societies, including the English Honor Society, ESL Honor Society, and our World Language Honor Societies in Italian, French, Spanish, and Japanese, as well as the Math Honor Society. The ceremony recognized students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, commitment, and character in their respective disciplines.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all of our inductees for their hard work and dedication. Ms. Zavala’s preschoolers at Franklin School wrapped up their Building Study by designing and creating their very own buildings! Students explored different types of buildings, what each one represents, and the important people who work there and help our communities every day. Special thanks to our classroom aides Ms. Maria, Ms. Danielle, for supporting our students every step of the way!
Franklin School's ABA students in Ms. Klein's class visited ShopRite today to practice navigating the store, pushing carts, and locating different food items throughout each aisle. They even scanned and bagged their items at checkout.
Roosevelt School's 3rd Grade KEEP students recently completed their Adaptation Unit! As a culminating activity, Mrs. Lupo's class created dioramas featuring an animal and the biome in which it lives, showcasing their understanding of how animals adapt to their environments.

KHS Success students took part in a hands-on learning experience by incubating and hatching baby chicks right in their classroom. As they observed the chicks develop and grow, students explored the stages of the life cycle and gained a deeper understanding of animal care, responsibility, and basic biological concepts.
They extended this learning beyond their own classroom by welcoming younger students for visits, so they can share in this experience. This interactive project combined science, collaboration, and community engagement, making it a meaningful and memorable educational experience for everyone involved.

We were absolutely honored to host author, professor, and renowned opera legend Adria Firestone at KHS this past Monday, April 13th!
Adria led an intensive performance workshop for our talented K-Birds, the cast of James and the Giant Peach, and our vocal music students. From fine-tuning vocal techniques to deep-diving into character work, our students received world-class coaching on how to truly connect with their pieces and bring their characters to life.
It was an incredible day of growth and inspiration as we geared up for our upcoming spring performances. We are so lucky to have had such a powerhouse in the industry share her wisdom with our students!

Yesterday, chorus students from the fifth and sixth grades visited Kearny High School to participate in the Second Annual Vocal Extravaganza alongside the renowned KHS K-Birds. This engaging workshop provided our young singers with a unique opportunity to refine their vocal techniques, explore new concert repertoire, and connect with fellow musicians across grade levels. Events like these are vital in strengthening the pipeline for a vibrant, unified vocal music community in Kearny.
Seeing the district come together in this capacity is truly fantastic. I would like to recognize the incredible dedication of our vocal teachers; their teamwork, camaraderie, and commitment to bringing this experience to the vocal students were on full display.
An event of this scale requires a true team effort, and we would like to extend our sincere gratitude for everyone's support:
