Hudson County Teen Arts Festival 2024
KHS K-Birds, vocal soloist, duets and piano soloist took the stage at The Hudson County Alliance of Teen Arts at NJCU today. The students did an amazing job!
Mr. Pamaar and Ms. Crespo accompanied the K-Birds in the Margaret Williams Theatre. Ms. Gonzalez conducted the K-Birds in the Large Group Vocal Ensemble. Although the K-Birds did not place, their performance was stellar and extremely moving!
Mr. Pamaar and Ms. Crespo accompanied the vocal soloists and duets. Haley Felix received the Judges Award for her solo, Josephine Brizuela and Bolivar Suero won a Judges award for their Duet and Jovan & Paulo Acevedo took Top Honors for their Duet! What a day!
Mr. Conde's student, Brandon Maddatu-Wong received a Top Honors Award for his piano solo of Debuss, and instrumental students Miguel Pinero won a Judge's Award for guitar solo and Noemi Suarez won a Judge's Award for Violin Solo
The KHS Musical theater group, featuring the K-Birds and the cast of The Addams Family Musical '24 took to the stage for the second day of the Hudson County Teen Arts Festival, winning a Judge's Award for Small Group Musical Theatre "Mama Will Provide" from "Once on This Island" and a Judge's Award for Large Group Musical Theatre "When You're an Addams" from "The Addams Family." The group also earned a perfect score for small group musical theatre with "The Ballad of Jane Doe" from "Ride the Cyclone.
Congratulations to our amazing performers on conquering the stage, and special thanks to Ms. Gonzalez, Mr. Conde, Mr. Parmaar, and Mr. Seaver for their dedication to our music program and a great season.
The Kearny High School Chorus and K-Birds performed a variety of holiday songs at their annual winter concert on December 15, 2023. The performance included a culturally diverse repertoire featuring local musicians Jonathan DiFiore on percussion, Alvarro Perdomo on drumset, Stella Crispo on piano, and Ms. Milagros Gonzalez as conductor.
The Kearny High K-Birds performed at the Hudson County Spring Fling on Thursday, March 23. The students performed an array of Michael Jackson songs for the attendees at the scholarship fundraiser.
Members of the K-Birds competed in the Annual Hudson County Alliance of Teen Artists Festival On April 25, 2023. Students Kaitlyn Persaud & David Lopes received a Judge's Award for their original composition "Swerve" in the DJ/Tech Mixing Category.
