This is an important notice for all students, parents, and staff members of the Kearny School District

In accordance with the Governor’s most recent Executive Order, the Kearny School District will maintain essential services at just one building throughout the remainder of the current health emergency.  Kearny High School will serve as the base for all ESSENTIAL SERVICES – food distribution, technology repairs and pick-up, and material distribution.  Only essential personnel will report to work on a staggered schedule.

All Kearny School students will continue DISTANCE LEARNING through Friday, April 3, 2020, at which time the district’s SPRING BREAK will begin.  SPRING BREAK for all staff and students WILL RUN through Monday, April 13, 2020. (A second snow day will be used on Monday, April 13). Classes will resume on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, but at this time we cannot predict whether schools will reopen or DISTANCE LEARNING will continue.  Students and parents should maintain contact with their teachers, counselors and administration as needed via email and/or phone.  All staff phone extensions are available on their particular school website www.kearnyschools.com > SCHOOLS > TEACHERS  Calls can be made to 201-955-5000, once answered you will be prompted to dial the extension of the individual you are trying to reach. All staff members will make every effort to respond to emails and calls as soon as possible, but not later than 24 hours.

GRAB & GO BREAKFAST & LUNCH is available to ALL Kearny residents 18 years of age and younger for pickup at the King Street entrance of Kearny HS between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon Monday through Friday.

All Kearny School District employees should check their email for further updates.

As we navigate these days of uncertainty, we urge EVERYONE to practice SOCIAL DISTANCING and wash their hands often.  Although we are encouraged to participate in activities such as walking, running, biking etc., it is important to keep everyone safe in order to contain COVID-19.

    Stay safe and be well.
