2015-2016 SCHOOL UNIFORM INFORMATION

 All elementary and middle school students wear navy blue school shirts with khaki bottoms

All high school students wear red or black school shirts with khaki bottoms (beige shirts are being phased out but may be worn this school year).BLACK PANTS are no longer allowed to be worn. NO cargo pants, sweat pants, skinny jeans, leggings, or stretch pants are permitted.

Kearny High School's new uniform will include a change: KHAKI bottoms.  Black will no longer be worn.  These bottoms may be purchased at your local retail stores such as Walmart, Kmart, Target.

Student Based Youth Services at Kearny High School has openings

The SBYS Program at KHS has openings available for their incoming Freshmen program. Session I, which runs from 6/26 to 7/10, has one opening. Session II, which runs from 7/13 to 7/24, has 8 openings. The cost is $30 and includes trips, lunches and workshops on all the opportunities KHS has to offer, important places and people to know in your High School, teen dating abuse, what it means to be academically successful, time management and more. Schuyler School's 6th grade math teacher, Mrs. Serino, presented her Vocabulary in Mathematics Action Research Project at the Montclair State University Prism/CUSP Showcase.  This was their culminating activity from the two year program!  Way to go Mrs Serino!!

Author/Writer Visit at Lincoln Middle School


Pictured here is Kevin Fox answering questions for one of Lincoln School's aspiring writers!

Kevin Fox has been a professional writer for twenty years, working in film, television, graphic novels, and novels.  His credits most notably include the film The Negotiator and he has been a writer for the award-winning television series,  Law and Order - Special Victims Unit,  for the past eight years. On May 27, he addressed  Lincoln Middle School Grade 7 students, speaking on  "Unlocking Creativity: The Writers Toolkit," and stayed to answer individual questions.
