Caps for Kids Day

On Friday, April 12, 2013

Our Franklin School Family
participated in Caps 4 Kids 4 Cancer and raised $1,085.00.

All the info about the organization is included.

This initiative benefits children across the country who are battling cancer. If you would like to participate, just simply donate money during the week of April 8. Anyone who donates will be able to wear a favorite cap ALL day long on Friday, April 12, 2013, in honor and support of kids with cancer.

Your donation goes to Caps for Kids, a non-profit organization that gives caps signed by athletes and celebrities to children battling cancer who have lost their hair as a result of various forms of treatment.

How does Caps For Kids work?

Caps For Kids ships autographed hats to each participating hospital center. At each hospital, the Caps for Kids caps are first introduced to patients and staff, and then patients are given the opportunity to choose a hat from the selection. If the child would like a different hat, the request is circulated among the Caps For Kids volunteers located around the country and every effort is made to secure the perfect hat.

***The top three homerooms that collect the MOST amount of money to donate to “Caps 4 Kids” will be awarded a “surprise treat”.

***This drive is hosted by Franklin School’s Student Council.

Alexander Peralta received second place and Gissell Amigon was elected for third place. This year's topic was "What I would Tell America's Founding Fathers".
