Thanks to the efforts of Triple A, the American Automobile Association, in conjunction with the Kearny Police Department, students in Washington School learned of automobile safety, both as a pedestrian and passenger.

Kearny Police Officer, Bill Reid, presented the program along with
Mr. Steven Rajczyk from AAA. Together they talked with OTTO as OTTO explained the 'rules of the road'. Also on hand for the assembly that took place in the lower gym were....
Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Robert P. Mooney and Washington School Principal, Mrs. Mary Costello.
Washington School Vice Principal, Dr. Addie Boyd, also had a chance to speak with Steve about automobile safety and young people playing next to and traveling inside automobiles.
Officer Reid spoke to the students about automobile safety, including wearing seat belts, the proper side of the road to walk on and bicycle on and the importance of wearing bright clothes in the dark so motorists could see them.
Two students had an opportunity to have their picture taken with OTTO and hopefully that photo will be posted here in a few days.
