Kearny Board of Education Honors Retirees for '05

At the regular meeting of the Kearny Board of Education, June 27, 2005, School Superintendent Robert P. Mooney recognized and congratulated members of the Kearny School District family who have announced their retirement in June.

Mr. Ronald Cattafi, a Guidance Counselor in Kearny High School accepts well wishes from Staci Snider, President of the Kearny Education Association and Robert P. Mooney, Superintendent of Schools.

Edward Morrell, a member of the Business Department in the high school is congratulated for his many years of service, especially in business technology, including the CISCO courses.

Science Teacher Bruno Iamonte receives well wishes from Lincoln School Principal Paul Reitemeyer. Mr. I taught science and received numerous awards for his work with ecology and the environment. Perhaps he'll best be remembered for "Earth Day" at Lincoln School.

Patricia Henderson is a retired secretary from Lincoln School. In his remarks, Mr. Reitemeyer noted that Patricia was an outstanding secretary; "she answered my email before I ever had a chance to look at it. She will be missed by everyone at Lincoln School."

Barbara Toczko receives a big hug from Bob Sprague, Principal of Franklin School for her many years of service and teaching in the Kearny community. Mr. Sprague said that Barbara is irreplaceable. In addition to her wonderful teaching, Barbara has raised funds for many civic and community causes.

Ron Cattafi, Barbara Toczko, Bruno Iamonte, Patricia Henderson and Edward Morrell represent about 25% of the Kearny School District family who are leaving us in June. Others who have retired and were unable to attend the Board of Education meeting are: Garfield - Kindergarten: Evelyn Andrew,

Ed.: Glen Morschauser, Schuyler - Gr. 8: Dolores Raimondo, KHS - Dept. Chair Benjamin Singerline, Schuyler - Gr. 8: Antoinette Solano, Schuyler - Gr. 8: Jean Spera, Lincoln - Gr. 8: Patricia Tubridy.
