Mission Statement
The mission of the Kearny Substance Abuse Advisory Committee is to assist in the identification and planning of activities for the youth of Kearny that will result in the prevention and reduction in the use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs (ATOD) and other risk-taking behaviors.

Goal
Prevent and reduce the use and abuse of ATOD and other risk-taking behaviors among the Kearny youth.

Objectives:

• To help coordinate school, law enforcement, and community efforts to reduce alcoholism and drug abuse

• To support community awareness programs on ATOD and other risk-taking behaviors

• To recommend self-sustaining programs that will address ATOD and other risk-taking behaviors in the schools and community

• To identify programs that will help reduce ATOD and other risk taking behaviors in the school and community
