Policy
AUDIO/VIDEO TAPING OF BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETINGS
The following are the guidelines to be followed on recording and video taping at a Board of Education meeting:
1. Anyone wishing to voice record or video a meeting must notify the Board Secretary prior to the start of the meeting. A copy of this policy will be provided to the person who is requesting a record.
2. All devices must be self-contained so not to interfere with the meeting or cause expense to the district.
3. No devices are to be concealed.
4. Recording of meetings must be of an entire section according to the agenda listings with no gaps or pauses in the recording in order to avoid with dialog being quoted “out of context”.
5. The only official recording of the Board of Education meeting is that which is recorded at and by the Board of Education.
6. The Board of Education will post on the entrance doors to the Board Room a notice that reads - “No audio or video recording without prior notice to the Board Secretary”.
7. The Board Secretary will use discretion as to the number of devices allowed at a meeting in the event several requests are made for any specific meeting, which would interfere with the meeting.
