 SCHOOL BASED YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAM

DIRECTOR

 

1.         CERTIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS

                              Master’s Degree

*             Minimum of 5 years experience in guidance/counseling

*             Possess a SAC Certificate and Guidance Certificate

*             Strong background as evidenced by course work and/or by experiences in guidance and counseling services both in school and agency locations.  Clinical background preferred.

2.         JOB DESCRIPTION

                              Responsible for the planning of the program

*             Responsible for budget and expenditures

*             Coordination of services from supporting agencies

*             Responsible for the implementation of state mandates

*             Responsible for seeking other grant proposals that could add to services and strengthen the Kearny School Youth Based Services Program

*             Confer with the district’s state coordinator regarding any programs to enhance the Kearny School Youth Based Services Program

*             Confer regularly with the principal regarding all phases of the program

*             Serve as resource person for the central office administration

*             Prepare an annual report for the superintendent covering the growth and aims of the program

*             Be available to conduct social service needs assessments

*             Be available to provide short-term counseling

*             Assure that case management and follow-up services are provided

*             Be available to meet with parent groups to discuss various issues

*             Perform other duties and special assignments consistent with this position as delegated by the Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendent.
