Policy

                 VICE PRINCIPAL - CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION

The Vice Principal in charge of Curriculum and Instruction will serve as an extension of the principal in fulfillment of the principal’s administrative and instructional responsibilities.  In the absence of the principal, the vice principal will assume full charge of the high school.

Responsibilities:

--          Observing and evaluating Department Chairpersons and non-tenured personnel.

--          Supervising and managing all academic matters, including all instructional                      programs.

--          Developing a composite listing of all Repair and Replacement and Capital Outlay

requests from the Department Chairpersons for the principal’s review.

--         Reviewing and analyzing teacher grade spreads.

--          Serving as administrative representative to the Pupil Assistance/CORE Committee.

--          Organizing, implementing and supervising the teacher in-service program.

--          Developing and scheduling all C.A.I. programs.

--          Supervising the publication of the faculty, student and parent handbooks.

--          Coordinating the KHS Mentoring Program.

--          Administer the high school Renaissance Program.

--          Supervising all Academic Awards ceremonies and presentations.

--          Assist in organizing and implementing the high school graduation processes.

--          Disseminating all publications to the community.

--          Preparing and disseminating to staff members assembly seating schedules.

--          Assuming any additional responsibilities issued by the high school principal.

The following responsibilities will be administered jointly by the vice principals:

--          Meeting regularly with student-parent-teacher committees to resolve concerns

and problems.

--          Evaluating and revising school procedures and policies.

--          Assisting the principal in the interview process of high school personnel.

--          Initiating administrative directions to staff in matters related to areas of

responsibility.

--          Assisting in conducting school assembly programs.

--          Counseling of students 9-12.

--          Supervising the interior/exterior of the school buildings and property.
