Adjourned Meeting

The Adjourned Meeting of the Kearny Board of Education was held in the Franklin School Auditorium on the evening of the above date.
President Mc Donald called the meeting to order and announced that in accordance with Chapter 231, Laws of 1975, Open Public Meetings Act, adequate notice of the meeting was provided to the Observer and the Jersey Journal. Notice of the meeting was posted on the bulletin board in the lobby of the Board Office and filed with the Assistant Town Clerk by letter dated April 25, 2007.
ROLL CALL
On roll call, the following members were present: Mr. Castelli, Mr. Doffont, Mrs. Marks, Mrs. Santos, Mrs. Schalago, Mr. Sgalia, Mrs. Mc Keown, President Mc Donald.
Mr. Robert P. Mooney, Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Ingrid L. Kiss, Assistant Superintendent of Schools, Mrs. Karen A. Yeamans, Business Administrator/Board Secretary, and Mr. Kenneth J. Lindenfelser, Esq., Board Attorney, were also present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mrs. Mc Donald led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
BOARD MEMBER ABSENT
Mr. Campbell did not attend the meeting.

Rita Gross, 17 Elizabeth Avenue, addressed the Board regarding use of Harvey Field by High School athletic teams.
BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR/BOARD SECRETARY SPEAKS
At President Mc Donald’s direction, Mrs. Yeamans read to the assembly the legal notice advertising the Special Meeting held on April 24, 2007.
BOARD PRESIDENT SPEAKS
President Mc Donald responded to the assembly regarding the Board’s decision to withdraw the Kearny School District from the New Jersey State Health Benefits Plan.
MOTION RE: ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Mr. Sgalia, seconded by Mrs. Marks and unanimously carried to adjourn the meeting.
